Esyndicat 2.2 is here!

Yes, the wait is almost over... After about 4 month delay new highly anticipates Pro version of eSyndicat directory software is finally available for download.

At the moment it is offered as a RC (Release Candidate) because there are still numerous bugs have to be worked out.. Also the price for the script is increased to $75 for the single and $245 for the unlimited domain license.

So what's new in eSyndicat Pro 2.2? With many added functionality features it becomes more and more like a portal or CMS software instead of a just links management solution. New plugin system and advanced admin interface makes it attractive to the average webmaster with very little programming knowledge.

To prevent illegal use and distribution of the software developers have created domain verification system. Now before the script can be installed every domain and subdomain have to be registered with eSyndicat. The point of this process is understandable but very annoying especially to the unlimited license holders who is eager to try a new toy.

Another major problem for many users that with the new script structure there are many changes in the template files. That means none of the templates made for previous versions of the script will work with the new 2.2 version. For those who paid to get custom template developed or spend many days and hours doing it themselves - more investments or hard work is ahead...

As with any RC version - eSyndicat Pro 2.2RC should not be installed on the live sites! Some people who upgraded their fully functional sites with new RC version already lost all data! So please if you are desperate to try it out - install the script in the subfolder or subdomain with separate database. Until it is officially announced as a stable version - don't risk with upgrading live sites.
